FINNLINES Finncanopus and Finnsirius

Finnlines, better known as a carrier of freight, was open to a completely new concept and design when they decided to seriously enter the mini-cruise market with two new vessels.

To offer the most appealing 18-hour mini-break to today’s customers, and in contrast to many party boats, Finncanopus and Finnsirius were designed with a relaxing, floating spa atmosphere in mind.

The layout is designed to facilitate smooth passenger circulation and to maximize the spectacular views from the large windows and decks. Arcade lounges and promenades are not just necessary transit areas but have been transformed into relaxing places to spend time.

A carefully thought-out customer path guides passengers smoothly to distinct zones designed for different categories of passengers, such as families, truck drivers, and pet owners.

Design inspiration, taken from the islands of the Finnish archipelago, has been transformed into a coherent overall look through a smooth color palette, touch-friendly materials, and the tranquil form language of the overall design. Great attention to detail has even been paid to the design of staircases and corridors to ensure a continuous customer experience.

To entertain various customer groups, there are also plenty of fresh ideas for catering. The Fisherman’s Market is inspired by traditional fishing villages not only in taste but also by their relaxed atmosphere and the way one acts there — picking your meal from different fishermen’s stalls and sharing it at a picnic table with others.

Our company has been responsible for the interior design concepts of both vessels. The process took a total of four years from start to finish.
